II Corinthians 3:6 “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
Religion is ‘of the letter’ , which is dead. But a personal walk with the Lord Jesus Christ is of the Spirit and gives us life. The Law’s purpose is to show us that we need a Savior and to point us to Christ. We are all dead in our trespasses and sins until we trust the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior.
