Bible Verses About Encouragement

We all need to be encouraged at times. This world takes a toll on us physically, emotionally, and spiritually every day. But what a difference when we fill our lives with Bible verses about encouragement, listen to godly music that turns our thoughts towards Christ, and spend time with other believers. Though there are many times we can’t just sit and read our Bible we can commit verses to memory and have them ready when we need a dose of encouragement.

Thy Word Have I Hid In Mine Heart…

Through trials certain verses get even more special. Bible verses about grief are not as common as those on encouragement. So here are some encouraging Bible verses that are a fortress to my thought life in the mists of a lost world.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through t the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Psalm 18:2-3 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; mu buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. (3) I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalms 3:3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.

John 16:33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye night have peace. In this world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for He is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

I included a verse on the resurrection because without the life, death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ we would have no hope or encouragement to cling to ourselves or to offer to others. As you seek Bible verses for encouragement remember it all starts with the cross applied to our hearts. Rejoice in your salvation. To gain the benefit of these verses above, in your own life, you must first be saved, and second you must read them and apply them. Rubbing a little Bible on your troubled is not enough. Instead you need to be bitter-less like Job while the storm of this life passes by.

“I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I’ve committed unto him against that day…”
